There’s nothing like a party, especially in a setting like spectacular Point Park!
By popular demand after last year’s National Treasures event, the Friends of the Park are back at Lookout Mountain’s iconic Point Park for more fun at another of their annual, casual summer celebrations of America’s National Treasures.
As always, the event pays tribute to our “local” National Park as well as to one more National Treasure. This year, we rally around The Blues--that distinctive sound invented in America and embraced around the world. Our 2012 Party At Point Park awaits you, with a trio of experiences:
Blues
Gather at the base of the lofty New York Peace Monument to hear Chattanooga’s own legendary bluesman, Dr. Clark White, aka deconbluz and the holy smoke band.
Views
Stroll along Point Park’s carriage path to drink in unparalleled views of Chattanooga and the Tennessee River, the monuments of Point Park, the quirky Ochs Museum, and legendary Umbrella Rock. (There will also be a few surprises along the way!)
BBQ
Raise a sunset toast to the grandeur of America’s oldest and largest national military park, while enjoying a delicious alfresco dinner of “uptown barbecue.”
Please join us for the fun!
Thursday, August 30, 5:30 to 8:30
