Friends of Chickamauga & Chattanooga National Military Park is now accepting reservations for a tour on Saturday, April 16, featuring the Park's chief historian, Jim Ogden. The daylong bus tour will revisit sites associated with Andrews Raid, one of the most intriguing episodes of the American Civil War and the subject of two popular movies over the years.

Park Superintendent Pat Reed reports that the clean up of damage inflicted by vandals who struck at Chickamauga Battlefield on Veterans Day is almost complete. He thanks all those who have offered to help with the effort and all those who have expressed support after the disturbing incident. Because no suspects have been identified, Friends of the Park is offering a $1000 reward to anyone with information leading to the arrest of the perpetrators. read more (295 words)

Runners from the region will descend on the Park on Saturday, April 2, to compete in the 37th running of Chattanooga Track Club's annual Chickamauga Chase Road Race. All proceeds will benefit Friends of the Park, as they have for many years. The Friends are grateful for this long-term support from the Track Club and its racers. read more (478 words)

With 370 members, 35 volunteer Directors and one part-time staff member, Friends of the Park is vital and growing. During 2004, as always, our goal was to support and promote Chickamauga & Chattanooga National Military Park however we could.

One feature of the 2005 September River Of Time fundraiser was a fun silent auction that kept cruisers bidding on treats such as golf outings, Civil War and sports memorabilia, spa services and more. One auction donor in particular generously and creatively turned his avocation into a money raiser for Friends of the Park. read more (231 words)

Friends of the Park presented 3rd District Congressman Zach Wamp with their 2004 Drew Haskins, Jr., Award of Merit during the group’s annual meeting aboard the Southern Belle riverboat on Thursday evening, September 30. The award honors a community member each year for outstanding service to Chickamauga & Chattanooga National Military Park and its ideals of preservation, peace and unity.
